Real Madrid confident of signing €80 million star in January

Zidane is determined to sign him at any cost!

Real Madrid are having a defensive crisis as a result of injuries and inexperience. The Spanish and European champions are not willing to let that happen once again and are set to spend big in January,
As per reports in the Daily Mirror, Los Blancos are lining up a stunning bid for Marquinhos. The Paris Saint-Germain star has been valued at €80 million by Madrid and are confident of signing him.

Real Madrid had to call up Achraf Hakimi as Marcelo, Carvajal and Theo Hernandez were not available for a long time. As a result of this, Los Blancos are eight points behind league leaders, Barcelona and are 2nd in the UEFA Champions League group standings after their shock loss to Tottenham.

Apart from the injuries, Madrid players have not hit the ground running. Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have had a very poor start to the season and with Gareth Bale out for another 4 weeks, things are going from bad to worse for them.

Zidane feels that with the addition of Marquinhos, Varane and Ramos will improve their game even more. The Brazilian can also play as a full-back and that will add more pressure to Marcelo and Carvajal too.

Barcelona also remain keen on signing Marquinhos while Manchester City and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the Brazilian as per other reports. Pep Guardiola is reportedly urging the Citizens to splash the cash once again and get the Brazilian at any cost in January.

Marquinhos is undoubtedly one of the best young defenders right now. He might not be on par with Varane but he has the ability to stop any forward on his day. PSG will be reluctant to sell him and might play hardball knowing that there are several other clubs interested in him.
